The Face Shop BB Power Perfection (Miracle finish) Review and Swatch

Hi Everyone!!!

I have been using this BB power Perfection cushion from The Face shop for a week now. And after trying it in many ways and receiving tons of compliments, I think I am ready to review this amazing product.

First, since this is my first post on the brand The Face shop, Let me introduce this brand to those who are new to it.

About the company: The Face Shop is a 14 year old South Korean company which makes a wide range of products including bath, body, skin care and make up. The Face shop is now an international brand providing its global standard products across the world.

Net Wt. 15g
MRP: 1690 INR
Shelf life: 3 Years

Where should I start? Deeply inspired by Korean beauties' skin care regimen, I have always wanted to try Korean beauty products. My wish came true through Nykaa. I wanted to try a cushion especially with that handle puff (I'm a die hard K-drama lover and I have seen the K-drama actresses use this puff on their faces and I really wanted to experience that feeling and style, :wink). I ordered it after a lot of thinking, because they have 7 types of cushions (actually 6) varying from matte to dewy finish for different skin concerns. They had an offer going on, so I got a cleanser free with this cushion!

I was very jumpy the day I received it. I felt as if I had gifted myself a luxury product (because of its lovely case! It was a delight for my eyes.) My skin color falls under MAC NC 35-40, and I chose this cushion in the shade V 205. I have combination skinMy T-zone is a bit oily and the remaining area of my face is normal to dry but acne prone. I use this cushion after my basic skin care-cleansing, toning and moisturising. I follow the instructions given on the cover. I slightly press the puff on the cushion and then softly dab it on the uneven areas where I want some coverage, then I press it gently on my overall face, blending it, to make my face look even.

The shade is definitely lighter than my own skin tone and is a little whitish on my skin (I have yellow, olive undertones). On first day, I took more than required amount of the product for my skin and looked a little ashy, but after half an hour or so, my face looked just fine. On the second day, I applied it after skipping moisturiser and I felt that my skin needed some more moisture. On the third day, I applied it after moisturiser and took appropriate quantity, and Voilla!!! My skin appeared one tone lighter, more radiant and softer. That day, I received a lot of compliments!

Funny thing was everybody kept looking at my face saying that I looked very pretty, but they couldn't just notice what was different:wink. I shied away. The next day, I got compliments from my those friends who are very critical of my applying any make up on my healthy skin. They said I looked fair and was glowing!

That's it! Since then it has become my holy grail product. I use it everyday. Even if the shade is lighter, it adjusts well and becomes one with my skin. Even if you rub your skin or sweat, it won't come out. The coverage is sheer to medium. (I don't dare build it up because of the fear of looking ghostly). It doesn't break me out. It evens out my skin and gives my skin a soft, supple, fair and dewy finish. It also reduces the appearance of pores around my nose area.

However, I am a bit disappointed by its staying power. On my face, it stays put for 4 hours, after which it fades and skin starts looking a little oily. This is when I need to give a touch up with a compact to make my skin appear matte.

Here are the swatches:

           Before Blending                                                                                                       After Blending

If you look closely, you will be able to see that the blended area looks fairer and brighter than the remaining area.

Here is how it looked on my face. I have tried to take as natural pic as possible.

Overall Thoughts:
This cushion provides a light coverage and makes the skin appear healthy, glowing, fair and plump.
So if you don't want much coverage and are happy with a bright, smooth and glowing complexion, buy it!

1) Contains SPF 50, so no need for an extra sun screen.
2) Makes my skin glow!
3) Skin looks fair and bright.
4) Doesn't cake or crease. (After all, it is not a foundation!)
5) More than half of the ingredients are natural which is a big plus for me.
6) The case is very elegant. I would love to carry it and flaunt it!
7)  Travel friendly.
8) It gives dewy finish but doesn't make my skin oily. (However, my nose area remains a bit shiny so      I dust some pressed powder there and I'm all set)
9) Evens out my skin. (However, darker areas such as under eye area definitely need a concealer).
10) Doesn't let my skin get tanned or darken at any time in a day.
11) Comes in handy when you need touch up at any time in the day or night!
12) Super light weight on skin. In fact, I don't feel like I'm wearing anything on my skin!

1) Even though they have 5 shades, for Indian skin, there are really only three shades: V203 for very fair skin, V205 for fair to medium skin and V207 for medium skin. Besides, for darker skin beauties I think V207 will be a light shade. I hope that The Face Shop releases more shades keeping Indian skin tones in mind if it really wants to capture Indian market.
2) It is expensive. Though, the cushion cover is more convenient in use than fingers or brushes, the quantity is less in a cushion than in a BB tube.
3) The Face shop has not released refill option in India yet, and paying for the case again is not reasonable. So, I hope that it releases the refills of the packs soon. Another unfair thing is, on its Malaysian and other sites, the company offers a refill free with these cushion covers!!

4)Oily skin beauties may not like it because it gives a very dewy finish.

So, Will I recommend it?
A definite yes! It is such a beautiful product to have in your vanity kit!

Will I buy it?
It's my holy grail. Will definitely buy it again.

A tip:
Use it 15 minutes prior to going out, as it takes a little time to adjust to your skin tone.

It was the longest of my reviews so far. Sheew!! I hope it was worth the effort. If you have any question or you want to share your experience regarding any cushion cover you used or are using, do write to us in the comment section below!

With Lots of love,

UPDATE: finished my first The Face shop cushion. Totally smitten by it. It continues to get me compliments! It has won a permanent place in my vanity kit. I found it great for winter and moderate climate-lasts on me all day, whereas in summer I do need a touch up when my skin starts turning oily. I could get about 30 applications from this cushion before it breathed its last. So its like spending 60 bucks on each application which is fine but still expensive when compared to bottled foundation. But for the sake of its convenient, travel-friendly packaging, I would never part with this cushion ever!

JUICY CHEMISTRY Ylang Ylang & lavender Daily Cleanser Review

Hey everyone!

Today I'm reviewing this lovely gentle and every day cleanser from Juicy chemistry. (I've previously reviewed JC's Argan and Rose serum and about the company HERE.)

The cleanser I'm reviewing today is different from other cleansers I have, as this comes in powder form and works as an every day very gentle scrub as well.

What the company claims: An exfoliation base of almond meal and oatmeal is infused with sensual lavender & luxurious ylang ylang. Wild forest honey is added to give your skin the much needed moisture kick. Impurities & dead skin are no match for this work-horse which smoothens your skin surface, leaves it baby soft & smelling beautiful.

Net Qty: 35 gms
MRP: 200 INR
Shelf life: (As with other JC's products, there is no mention of expiry date)

I have combination skin, which is slightly oily on T zone and remaining areas are normal to dry. Foam face washes no matter how gentle they are, still dry my skin, so I wanted a very gentle and moisturising cleanser. I ordered this from Nykaa merely because I wanted to try this brand.

,And now that I've started using it, half of my daily skin care products are from this brand. I just love the lavender fragrance of this cleanser. The cleanser is in powder form and has come with a very cute wooden spoon. For cleansing my face with this cleanser, I take a scoop of this powder and mix the powder with milk in a glass bowl. I apply it on my face and let it be there for 10 minutes. After this, I wet my fingers, gently massage my face in circular motion and rinse my face thoroughly.

The granules in this cleanser are the softest I have encountered so far in any scrub. Also, the cleanser has a very relaxing cooling effect and smells like menthol. My skin really enjoys this cooling especially now in summer when the skin has to face a lot of heat. I keep the mixture in refrigerator for an extra cooling effect and use it even after coming back from office.

I love the fact that my skin doesn't feel dry a bit after washing my face and remains soft.

Overall thoughts:
I think this is one cleanser that will cater to the needs of all skin types: dry, oily, acne prone, combination and normal. Plus, It is very gentle and yet effective. It retains the skin's moisture and makes a perfect daily cleanser.

1) It's absolutely natural
2) free from preservatives
3) Doesn't dry the skin
4) freshens the skin and has a cooling effect
5) Amazing natural fragrance
6) keeps the skin soft

1) Price may be for some, but very small quantity is required and also one container will last easily around 3 months.

I couldn't really think of any other cons.:)

So, Will I buy it again?
Definitely. Since my skin loves moisture rich formulas, it is definitely one of cleansers I will repurchase.

Will I recommend it?
If price is not the issue, definitely give it a try. You will not be disappointed for sure, especially if you have acne prone skin or normal to dry skin.

Homeoculture Combo of 7 hair accessories Review, how to Donut- tutorial (HOTD)

Hey everyone,

I saw a lot of queries on amazon website about this product. Since, I have bought it, amazon sent me a question asked by a customer on how to use these accessories. I thought it would be good to share the review on blog in case any of you is planning to buy it.

So here we go:
This packet comes in 7 accessories (actually 11):
3 size hair donuts
3 size Banana Bumpits
2 Tic Tac Puff maker
2 Volumizers
1 Magic Puff Maker

The instructions on the packet are in Chinese, so can't understand:(
Price: 295 INR

                                                                 Banana Bumpits in 3 sizes
                                                                    Magic puff maker

Donuts- my absolute favorites

Pictorial presentation for how to use the Volumizer and tic tac.

My Experience:

To start with, I have very thin hair. So I wanted something that can add volume to it and at the same time, allow me to do different hair styles. This kit had it all. But As you can see, this kit caters to the needs of all and thus have 3 different sizes. The volumizers and tic tac are visible even after covering in my thin hair, so I have no use for them. The Banana bumpits are very hard, harsh and big; so, again they are not for me. Puff maker is very delicate but can be used well.

I only use Donut, that too, the smallest which fits in my hair perfectly. Whenever I make a bun with this donut, I always get loads of compliments on my neat, heavy bun. The bun is very easy to do. Even if you are a beginner, you will finish setting it within 5 minutes! Also, the donut is very soft and never causes me any hair fall. It stays put for whole day, and it comes out smoothly whenever I remove it. I am absolutely in love with these Donuts.

However, these donuts are available in the markets at the price of 25 INR. So considering that I don't use anything else from this packet, I think it was a waste of money.

Overall thoughts
Donuts are a must have hair accessories for all types of hair. They can be used on casual as well as special occasions. So buy this kit if you have thick hair and can use all of that; otherwise, just go to your local market and buy Donuts.

Here is the demo of how it looks on my hair

and here are the you tube links for how to do this simple donut bun.

A piece of advise:
In tutorials, they advise you to first make a ponytail and tie it with a rubberband. It may work for you if you have thick hair but if you have thin hair, then do a ponytail but don't tie it with rubber band, just hold the hair, insert the donut inside and spread the hair around it. Without rubberband, you will notice that it is easier to spread the hair around donut.

I hope you guys found this post useful.

JUICY CHEMISTRY Argan and Rose Serum (Moisturiser with natural SPF)

Hey guys,

Today I am sharing my experience with this facial oil moisturiser from Juicy Chemistry.

First, about the brand and company- Juicy Chemistry is an Indian brand, which now has its customer base in all over the world.  The company's goal is to provide effective skin care products formulated with the purest and the most nutrient rich ingredients the nature has to offer.

What the company claims:

Handmade, 100% veg, freshly made, no animal testing, 100% natural, no harmful chemicals, no fragrance oils.USDA certified oils

(I am in absolute awe of the naturalness of these products!)

So here goes the review!

About the serumOur luxurious day serum is made with oils containing natural SPF. Red Raspberry Seed oil and Carrot Seed oil work as natural umbrellas to protect our skin from both UVA and UVB rays. We combine this with the goodness of saffron & rose essential oil. All of these work together to protect, moisturise and prevent sun damage.

Net wt. 10 ml.
MRP: 400 INR
Shelf life: They've mentioned 'mfg date' Feb2017 but I could not find 'use by' date/month.

Usage: Take a little amount on your plams and apply to your face and body. Let it absorb. Apply 15 minutes before stepping out in the sun.

Click on the image to enlarge

I bought this serum from Nykaa just randomly to try out this brand's products. As I am a die hard fan of facial oils, I was very excited to use this oil. Firstly, because of its impressive natural ingredients. Secondly, it is a serum. Thirdly, it contains SPF! that means my day care skin regimen was going to become simple.

The serum is almost transparent in color and the consistency is smooth and somewhat similar to coconut oil's consistency. I use this product everyday after cleansing and toning my face. I take 3-4 drops of it on my palm, rub it on my palm and then tap it on my face. Sometimes, I just take 3-4 drops and dot it all over the face and then massage it into the skin. I often forget to wait for 15 minutes though, as I am in rush to go to office.

About its effects, I have combination skin and I looooove its feel on my skin. It has made my skin softer and imparts a plump effect to my skin. The soft glow is a bonus. The fragrance is just so goood! (sorry for using informal language). The best part is, despite being an oil, it has never caused any breakouts to me. I avoid applying it in my oily area though, and just leave a touch of it there.

I've realised that  I can't use this oil in summer because it gives warmth to skin and breaks me into sweat more often than usual. But for winter, it is a great choice for me as my skin goes dry and I hate using thick creams. These days, in moderate weather, when the temperature is around 30 degree, I sometimes use loose powder on the top of this serum to get a matte effect. For a side note, one 10 ml bottle will last for about 3 months.

Overall thoughts:
JC Argan and Rose serum is a good serum that makes the skin soft and smooth, it will suit normal, dry and very dry skin but very oily skin beauties have to stay away from it. Also, the product is suitable for moderate and winter season and not for hot and humid especially in the case of combination and normal skin types.

1) It is 100% natural.
2) It keeps the skin very well moisturized
3) makes my skin smooth and soft to touch.
4) It has natural SPF.
5) It comes with a dropper so it is very convenient to draw the right amount.
6) The fragrance is heavenly and relaxing.
7) Imparts slight radiance to skin.
8) Cruelty free, preservative free and parabens free
9) Freshly made.

1) Some may find it a little expensive.
2) Some, especially oily skin beauties will find this oil heavy on skin.

Will I buy it again?
Sure! It is a lovely daytime serum and my skin loves it.

Will I recommend it?
Definitely! I would, in fact, advise you to check their website and choose according to your skin type and concern.

NET WT. 7.5g
MRP: 995 INR
SHELF LIFE: 1 year

Make up for me is more about enhancing and highlighting my key features of the face than about hiding imperfections. I love lip and eye make up. and so is my love for eye palettes.

Lakme's this eye palette is for day time and is good for office wear and casual occasions. It has a good combination of light and medium dark colors. It has good pigmentation and two applications are enough to give good color pay off. Here are the swatches:

The first color is my favorite as it matches my skin tone (it is a nice gold shade) and is a good base color to hide any darkness or pigmentation on eyes. Second is a  cool black which can be well used to create a smoky eye effect. I personally don't like the 3rd shade as it is orangish and dulls my eyes. 4th is a cute green and can be used as a mono-shadow as well. I haven't tried the pink yet and 6th one, as you can see, is the lightest of all and can be used on the corner of the eyes, on the brow bone and the centre of the eyelid for highlighting.

Here is the EOTD created with this palette. I have left one eye plain, and on second eye I've completed the smokey look for you to easily notice the differences.
(first apply a good moisturiser or primer, I have applied an eye gel here after cleansing my face and  after finishing the eye makeup, I have brushed out the excess powder and applied some setting powder to make the color stay for long)

On left, nothing is applied, on right I have applied shade 1 as base color to cover the whole lid.

On right are used 2 colors after base, the outer part of lid is covered with shade 2, and middle part with shade 6 and 1.

Final effect! On left-nothing, On right- the completed smokey look.

Here for further effect, I have given my eye make up a finishing touch by enhancing brows with Maybelline Newyork's Fashion Brow double effect Pen; Oriflame's Giordani Gold Mascara; L'oreal Paris's Linear Magique liquid eyeliner

Overall thoughts:
Lakme's Gold Eye palette is a decent palette for everyday light make up. This palette adds definition to the eyes and will suit most of the skin tones.

1) decent pigmentation
2) doesn't irritate the eyes.
3) easy to work with. Even beginners will find this palette quite easy to use, as colors blend easily.
4) blends well.
5) decent staying power (easily around 4-5 hours)
6) It really enhances the eyes' appeal.
7) All the shades have very fine shimmer particles which don't look loud and are in just right amount, enough to highlight the eyes.
8) The packaging is very cute and travel friendly.

1) Applicator is good for applying mono shadows but a) not for creating different looks-you need separate brushes for that b) is very delicate so you've to be patient with it.
2) For blending these colors, again you need a brush otherwise the shade may look patchy.
(I personally prefer using fingers for makeup but these eye shadows aren't finger friendly-At least for me)
3) The shades are light so if you're a person who likes darker or visible or dramatic shades, this is not the palette for you.
4) It is expensive but then we're getting 6 shades so I think it is okay but I still feel it's pricey.
5) Shelf life is only 1 year so one must use it more often to finish it within the time and justify the price paid.

Will I buy it again?
No chance. I prefer velvety feel of the shadows and these shadows have a chalky powdery feel.
Besides, I want to try other palettes! but as of now, I'll enjoy this palette.

Will I recommend it?
If you like powdery and light colors, and are getting discount on this palette, then surely, it can be given a try!

Do you have an eye palette of your dreams? Do share your experience with us in the comment section below.

With lots of love,

Gokul Sandiva Pure Sandalwood Face Powder

Hey everyone,

Never ever I thought that I will be reviewing a product bought randomly in a supermarket! But this product is worth mentioning. So read on for the full review.

What the company claims: Make Up that works to give you flawless finish.
Gokul Sandiva Face powder is a natural make up. Its chemical-free formula suits all skin types. It works all day to give you a clear, glowing complexion and the fragrance of natural sandalwood keeps you feeling fresh through the day.

Key Ingredients: Sandalwood, Saffron, Rose Extracts
Net wt. 5 grams
Price: 105 INR
Shelf life: 3 years

I bought it just randomly while buying some stuff in Ratnadeep Super Market 2 years ago. It was resting in my Almirah for 2 years. Just recently, I have become obsessed with all sorts of powders and bought MAC's Mineralize skin finish, I already have Oriflame's translucent powder and by chance my eyes fell on this powder which I never used until now.

I thought of giving it a try since ingredients were all natural and I am an ardent lover of natural or close to nature products. I have been using this for over a week now. And I found it really worth reviewing.

I use this powder after moisturising my skin. I take a powder brush, swirl it on the powder, tap the excess on the lid, and then brush it all over my face with special focus on oily T zone. The powder instantly makes my skin look fair and radiant. It also makes my pores look smaller, hence, giving my face a soft look.

The lasting power of this powder in moderate climate (30-36 degree centigrade) is approximately 5 hours. I am yet to check its staying power in summer.

The only thing is they don't have the shade range, so while it is good to go for medium fair to fair skin tones, it may not be the right product for darker skin tones.

Overall thoughts:
Gokul Sandiva powder is a good powder especially for the beginners in make-up field. It makes the skin look fair and radiant.

1) The first thing you notice when you unwind this cute little lid is, its pleasant sandalwood fragrance
2) It makes the skin look lighter in color.
3) Imparts radiance.
4) doesn't make the skin look chalky
5) decent staying power
6) budget friendly
7) survives sweating.
8) blends well in to the skin
9) Doesn't give dry patches.(however, every powder needs good moisturiser underneath, so do moisturise the skin before applying it)
10) Doesn't accentuate the pores or fine lines.

1) It doesn't give any coverage at all so don't expect it to hide any blemishes or dark spots.
2) It doesn't have any shade range.
3) They have mentioned key ingredients, I doubt whether it is a complete list or not.
4) Availability could be an issue.

Will I buy it again?
I don't think so. It is a good powder but I need a powder with some coverage. So next in my list is Loreal's pressed powder. Secondly, I need a compact not a loose powder when I am travelling or in office.

Will I recommend it?
For oily, combination, and normal skin beauties who are medium fair to fair, this product can be given  a try if you're looking only for skin radiance.

Which powder is your favorite? Do share its name in the comment section below.

Kunkumadi Tailam - Arya Vaidya Sala - Kottakkal

Hey everybody!

This time, I have brought Arya Vaidya Sala's KunKumadi Oil for review.

Before I start the review, let me tell you something about KUMKUMADI OIL in general, for those who don't know.

KumKumadi oil is one of the most popular oils in our Ayurveda, especially for skin treatments. Made from16 herbal ingredients, this oil has saffron as its main ingredient. The oil is considered one of the most reliable and effective ways to improve complexion (antioxidants present in saffron); lighten dark circles; reduce whiteheads, acne & blackheads (anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric) and keep skin wrinkle free and young.

Thus, this miraculous Kumkumadi oil is beneficial in making skin young, glowing, radiant and flawless.

There are many companies which prepare and or sell this oil. You might have heard of Kama Ayurveda's Miraculous Kumkumadi oil. But because Kama Ayurveda's oil is super expensive (somewhere around 1800 INR), I decided to try a cheaper version as the ingredients are same. So, here I am going to review one from Arya Vaidya Sala. Let's get started!

About the company:
Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala (AVS) is a century old Charitable Institution engaged in the practice and propagation of Ayurveda, the ancient health care system of India. Arya Vaidya Sala offers classical Ayurvedic medicines and authentic Ayurvedic treatments and therapies to patients from all over India and abroad.

What the company claims: Interestingly, nothing!

Net wt: 10 ml
MRP: 363 INR
Shelf life: 3 years

Before I start, let me tell you about my skin. I have combination baby soft skin. I am medium fair and come under NC 35-40. My skin is sensitive to harsh products and also easily gets tanned and dull under given environmental conditions. I have dark circles and tanned forehead and chin.

So, I wanted something that would maintain my natural glow and bring back the true color of my complexion. I have previously tried Vichy Normaderm's anti imperfection day cream (review coming soon) but apart from imparting glow it didn't do much for the imperfections on my face. So, this time I thought of trying this oil.

I have recently fallen in love with facial oils, and this oil, especially has become a must have for me!
I use it every night after cleansing and toning my face. I take 4-5 drops of this oil. Apply on overall face in dots and then gently massage it into the skin in outward motions. I also apply it on lips and gently tap the oil in under eyes area as well.

This oil has a very strong smell but it fades in 5-10 minutes. It makes my skin look yellowish for some minutes (maybe because of turmeric) but it's okay as it is a night treatment. Every morning when I wake up, I am amazed at the fact that although it is an oil and my skin is combination, there is no sign of sebum anywhere on skin. Another OMG fact is no matter how many breakouts I had got, when I wake up, either those acnes, pimples are gone or have reduced! It also works silently on the acne or pimple scars. My skin feels softer and pores'size appear reduced. Besides, the skin looks fairer and tanning has also lessened. The dark circles have also lightened but on lips I have not observed much change as of now. I hope it soon starts working on my lip pigmentation too.

I am absolutely in love with this oil at the moment!

Overall thoughts:
This oil is a must try for all skin types and for all age groups (excluding under 18)

1) The oil is absolutely herbal and made from natural ingredients.
2) It improves the skin texture making skin soft and radiant.
3) reduces pigmentation and dark circles.
4) heals acnes and treats breakouts.
5) calms tanned skin and makes skin fair.(fairness comes slowly, so be patient)
6) Comes in a nozzle so very easy to use
7) Travel friendly packing.

1) Some may not like the smell, but as I said it is momentarily.
2) Some might find it expensive, but trust me it's worth every penny and better than many expensive creams or gels.
3) Availability could be an issue. but Arya Vaidya Sala has branches across India. You can personally go and buy it from their store or contact their Kerala office and they'll deliver it right at your doorstep!

Will I buy it again?
Of course. It might as well be my HG night treatment for skin!

Will I recommend it?
Of course! Do give it a try. Who knows it might become your HG product as well:)

NOTE of caution:
USE this oil ONLY in night time.
Don't use any moisturiser or serum after it.
Do use a toner after cleanser or use rose water as toner, let the toner dry, then use this oil.
Also, be patient while trying it. You will start noticing effects within a week. but give it a month to work on your skin. (I appear biased right? But I am actually excited and just happy with its effectiveness!)

I hope you find this review useful. Do you have a night cream that you have fallen in love with?

Hey everyone!

Today I am going to review Loreal's under eye whitening cream. So read on!

What the company claims:                                                      Ingredients:

MRP: 599 INR
Net content: 15 ml
Shelf life: 3 years

My experience with Loreal's eye cream:

As my work involves sitting in front of computer for long hours, I have got, as a result, dark circles (though not very dark, but dark enough to bother me). I am not much of a make up person so using concealer everyday is out of option. I wanted a more permanent solution and hence started my search for an under eye cream. I have previously used Badam Rogan which is an oil, rich in vitamin E and it worked well to reduce the dark circles, but this time, I wanted to check out a cream.

Loreal's this eye cream can be used in both morning and night. So I apply it everyday in both times as mentioned. A very little product is required. The consistency is thick and creamy. After applying my face moisturiser, I tap this cream on my under eye area.

It has been a month since I started using it, and I must say with disappointment, that the product has not shown much results. The product might be slow in working, but 1 month is a lot for me to wait and for a product to show some effect. So, final verdict is that the product has failed to meet its claim at least in my case.

1) It's a good moisturiser and even moisturises dry under eye area well.
2) Doesn't make the under eye area look greasy even after hours.
3) very light and suitable even for sensitive skin.
4) It has never caused me any eye irritation so that is a good thing.
5) comes in a nozzle shape, so easy to get the right amount out.

1) It did not work for me.
2) Very expensive.

Overall thoughts:
I think this product was a waste of money and really regret buying it. but I am happy that I could warn you against it:)

Will I recommend it?
Considering its ineffectiveness on my dark circles, I will never recommend it ever to anyone in my life.

Note: These are my personal thoughts based on my experience with the product, however, your experience could be different from mine.

So this is it in today's review.
Have you got your best, effective under eye cream? Do mention it in the comment section below.

Have a happy day!

Hey Everybody!

Today I am going to review one of my all time favorite scrubs. So, read on for full analysis.

I have already introduced Jafra in the previous post where I reviewed JAFRA's MUD MASK. You can read the review HERE.

Now about the scrub,
What the company says: A smooth cream with tiny microspheres that glide onto the surface of your skin to gently slough away dull, dry skin and cleanse clogged pores for a healthy, glowing, polished appearance.

Price:  (491 INR then 590 INR when it was in India),  $19 (current price on their website)
Qty: 75ml
Shelf life: 3 years
How to use: After cleansing, gently smooth on face, avoiding eye area and mouth area. Massage gently in circular motion. Rinse face with lukewarm water. Use once or twice a week, as needed.
Clinically, Allergy, Irritancy and Dermatologist Tested.

My experience

I have been using it for 4 years now. Jafra has left India but thankfully, I have one extra scrub in my stock which is unfortunately going to expire this year. I am going to miss this scrub.

The first thing that I notice when I use this scrub is its gentle particles. The scrub is really gentle on skin and yet very effective to remove tan, blackheads and dead skin. I use it sometimes directly without face wash and sometimes after face wash. In any way, it never disappoints me. The texture is creamy which ensures that the skin doesn't dry after exfoliation. I massage my skin for 2 min in circular motion and then wash my face with normal water. After washing, the first thing that I'm always pleased to note is the instant glow and softness that this scrub leaves my skin with.
I am really very happy with this scrub.

and even more happy, after I checked the much hyped St. Ives scrub, (review coming soon). I felt that Jafra's is much better than St. Ives'.

Overall, I would say that it stands true to its name. Muuuaaaah!!!

Brief thoughts:
This scrub will suit all skin types including mature and dry skin. I have acne prone oily combination skin, and my skin loves this scrub.

1) The scrub is very gentle on skin and really polishes the skin well.
2) imparts a soft glow    (this is the biggest plus point)
3) has the goodness of Jojoba oil and Rosemary
4) makes the skin smooth and soft
5) removes blackheads
6) Doesn't dehydrate the skin post exfoliation (a big plus for this)
7) No animal testing
8) one tube lasts for about 8 months if used twice a week.

1) According to its international price, it will cost more than 1000 rupees to an Indian which is gross!
2) It is no longer available in India and importing is irrational considering the price hike.

So, Will I recommend it?
If I consider its effect, definitely yes. But at this price-no. So if you get any discount, grab on to it and try it once.

Will I buy it again?
At this price? We have a lot of options in India which I am going to explore. Nevertheless, I'm really going to miss it as it was a wonderful scrub...

I have recently fallen in love with Juicy chemistry's products. So coming up next: review on

JAFRA SPA MUD MASK - the unsung hero in India

Hey everyone,

Today I have decided to review Jafra's two unsung heroes in India.

For all those who are unaware of this brand, Jafra is an American company with its headquarter in California and has presence in around 11 countries across the globe. The company sells high end products through direct selling network (just like Amway and Avon).

Jafra has removed its base from India but I really miss some of their products. So I thought of reviewing them here to pay a tribute to this wonderful brand.

What company says: Dead Sea mineral mud, clays, Vitamin E and antioxidants help deep clean, unclog pores, remove excess oils, impurities and dead skin cells. Use on the face and the body for the full at-home spa treatment.

NET VOL: 250 g
MRP: 1401 INR
Shelf life: 3 years
How to use: Apply to clean skin (face, neck and/or body) avoiding eye area. Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.

My Experience:
This is one of the masks that never lets me down. It has an amazing fragrance too. I apply this pack after using face wash and toner. I spread an even layer of this mask on face and neck and let it work for 20 minutes. Since the product is thick, I mix it with some rose water in summer season (when my skin is oily) and with milk in winter season (when my skin is dry). This mask works really well on my skin. It instantly soothes my skin in summer and helps to remove tan.

Also, I look no further than this mask whenever I am bothered by pimples. After just one application, I can see that it has dried the pimple and reduced its size by 50%. Then I apply Vicco turmeric cream on my cleansed face and in 2 days the pimple disappears without leaving any mark behind.

I am not a fan of fuller's earth mask (Multani mitti) so I really rely on this mud pack for detoxifying my skin. and I am absolutely in love with it.

What the products does:
1) cleanses the skin impurities
2) calms the skin
3) removes tan
4) helps in getting rid of pimples, if any
5) helps to maintain the skin's texture
6) reduces the pore size to an extent
7) pulls the excess sebum out

there is definitely no cons for this amazing product.
The price may be for some. but even after using it every week, the product has lasted me one year. So I think the cost is not an issue as a little goes a long way.

Overall thoughts:
It definitely does what it claims!

Will I buy it again?
Yes. I won't import it, though and since it is available only through consultants, it will be very cumbersome. but if JAFRA comes back to India, I will always buy this mask.

Will I recommend it?
Of course yes!
However, note that mud masks are dry masks. So for oily, combination and normal skin they are perfect as it is, but for dry skin, you have to add milk or something nourishing that suits your skin to avoid dryness and dullness.

If you aren't new to skin care, you must have heard about VICHY which is one of the most trusted and reliable brands for skin care across globe.

Today I am reviewing a night cream from Vichy's Normaderm range. Although I have started late, this gel based cream has won my heart.

Let us get started.

What the company claims about this product:

Efficacy: Helps control the excess of sebum produced throughout the night, imperfections look minimized, pores less visible and skin is radiant with  a fresh clean sensation.

Sensitive skin: tested under dermatological control, suitable for sensitive skin

 Pleasure: Non-greasy texture, fast absorption.

How to use: Apply nightly on clean and dry skin. Avoid eye contour area.
MRP: 900 INR
Shelf life: 3 years
QTY: 40 ML
Ingredients:                           Consistency:

I have been using this Night detox every night for about 7 months now. After face wash, I pat my face dry, apply a toner and then apply this night detox evenly in upward movements. In the beginning, I would wake up with an awesome glow and see a visible reduction in pore size and also in skin color. I could notice that effectively peeled the tan off my skin. Moreover, my skin would feel soft and smooth to touch. I really liked that.

Now after 6 months, I see that it doesn't remove tan completely nor does it completely makes the pore size next to invisible. So, it doesn't IMPROVE the texture a lot. However, what I can definitely say is it moisturizes the skin really well and MAINTAINS the texture of skin. and the glow continues!

Another point to be noted is that it is not an anti-ageing cream but it is a good cream to include in night time skin regimen especially if you have an acne prone skin like I have. The cream has thermal spa water so it is really not greasy but has healing properties.

semi absorbed  in the skin                completely absorbed

1) keeps skin soft.
2) gives a natural looking glow
3) removes tan to an extent
4) perfect for oily combination and acne prone skin and especially in summer.
5) non-greasy
6) Non-comedogenic and paraben free
7) makes pore less visible but doesn't disappear them.
8) Moisturizes the skin without making it look oily.
9) The size of the tube is very travel friendly.
10) The small nozel ensures that we don't take out too much of the product which I feel is very considerate of them as the cream comes at a price!

1) Some may find it expensive but I feel it is not very expensive as even after daily usage the cream has lasted me for around 7 months.
2) No anti-ageing properties (but there is a specific range for anti-ageing)
3) May not be for dry or very dry skin beauties.
4) glow doesn't last long.

Will I recommend it?

Will I buy it again?
Well Yes and No. If I stopped here, how would I review the other night creams?:)
So, I can't say that I would stop at this cream but I will certainly keep coming back to it.

Stay updated!
